I started reading Networking for Dummies by Doug Lowe and found it to be an excellent starting point for the just starting networker but a little too basic for me.Cisco Networking for Dummies is just what I needed; something more advanced than the basics, but not something that would go over my head. It takes you through some of the basics found in Lowe's book (if you need a brush up) and propels you into the world of frames, packets, Cisco device types, protocols, VLANs, and so much more. Very big book, but VERY helpful to get you going on that second step to networking.
Book in good condition. Still wading thru content.
Helped me to brush up on quite aa few of the things I had forgotten since I ha taken the class back in 2011.
Tells you just about everything you need to know.
Fantastic - - Just Graduated with three AA's from local CC - - Wish I knew about this BEFORE Cisco I, II, & III, saved my butt in Cisco IV!
As usual, dummies brings down the information to a level that can be easily understood. I am IT with computers and need to learn how to manage our Cisco network, this helps.
Some good info however gets a little too advanced too quickly for my liking. It also is now a little outdated.
Informative and very detailed. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn cisco products.
