I hate to say this, because the author says he's experienced, but you can't trust the information in this book. I started getting suspicious when in some spots they talked about New York State instead of California. I finally picked up the latest official DMV manual and started all over again. I'm glad I did. I found the official manual and the DMV on line practice tests were the right way to go. Also, now that I have taken the DMV test, I realize that the Study Guide from Amazon left out key information that was asked on the test. There's no doubt in my mind that I would not have passed the test if I had relied on this study guide. The author should be ashamed at the sloppiness with which this guide is written.
Wow! The amount of information in this book is astounding. It was so helpful to learn about what every sign means and be fully confident in myself knowing I'll remember everything and can always look back if I don't. I'll definitely be quizzing myself with the test questions. What an amazing and informational book!
This was badly in need of an editor. Seemed more like an editing of a NY book than a California book.
This is useless use the you tube practice DMV tests for free.
Definitely would not have passed my test without this, so so helpful
Book appeared to be a cut and paste from other sources. In fact one section cited New York information instead of California. Book was adequate but not as good as it needed to be.
Unfortunately I purchased this book and studied to take the test to renew my license. For the first time since I've been driving, I failed the test. The lesson I learned is to use the official DMV manual to study for the test.
I loved this book. Hank has a way of making everything very understandable. I used this guide to teach my little brother Brett how to drive. He will probably still get lost along the way but I feel very comfortable with his understanding of the vehicle and the rules of the road now. Thanks Hank, great stuff!
