Marsh received her bachelor's degree in geography from Calvin College in 1999, her Master's Degree in geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 2003, and her Ph.D. (also in geography) from UCSB in 2009. I read this in the three days prior to my ap exam and did not do much more studying than that and got a 5. It's a very good summary of all we learned and the vocabulary really helps with ap exam questions.The only complaints I have is that the frq's in the book do not have the same format as the ap exam and are not very good even though that is 50% of the test and there are not many of them so i went on the college board website and looked at the previous years frq's. Also, I was going to use this book throughout my class, but it provides a lot of extraneous details and some fluff. All in all, it provides a good summary of the course and good practice for some challenging multiple choice questions.
I am an AP student who is studying for the AP test that's happening this week. Before I opened this book, I thought I knew everything for the test, but now that I took their diagnostic test, I have to swallow my pride here and admit that I don't. I never would have realized this if it want for Barron's. If there is any reason to get this book, it's the diagnostics test. I will update with my score eventually, but I can definitely say this has been worth it.
This book is really good for a quick review and it covers a lot without being intensive. I read through the whole thing once and read some of the sections twice. I didn't have the time to take the practice tests and I still got a really good score. It's an excellent way to review especially since I couldn't dream of rereading my actual AP human geo textbook in a few weeks. I'll definitely be buying more of these books for the AP classes I'm taking next school year.
Required for a high school class, teacher promptly quit using it. My daughter, however, is doing each chapter / section and taking the practice tests, to prepare.
I like that it had vocabulary deffinitions at the end. It is much better than the text book my school used. I wished I bought tho sin the beginning of the year my grades would have been so much better. Didn't think i knew anything about this course. I studied this book a little the week before I took the exam and I got a 5. This book is a necessity. Don't buy the cards though. You don't need the cards if you have this book.
Again, great condition and no marks! Really big book but hopefully it helps me during next year’s AP Exam. I’ll update this review in a year!
A very good practice materials. My child has learned Chinese for 10 years and this book provides two mode tests and some useful knowledge for the ap test.
daughter made it through the book and took a few practice exams but was someone thrown that some of the questions on the exam were on topics not discuss in class or in this book.
